"The Tax Man Cometh"--with a check in hand this time!

Please follow me under the fold...

Most of us are quite familiar with the tax burden end of our government. At least, we whom have been working and filing, filing and working our whole lives, and as they say, "from the cradle to the grave". Most of us don't have tax shelters. Most of us who do work, work "on the books" meaning NOT under the table, but even the "underground economy" is no escape from the tax man: the ones paying you for your "side job" or "gig" already paid taxes on that money, unless they're also working under the table, too. Most of us don't have offshore bank accounts in the Cayman Islands.

In short, most of us just reach in our wallets doing our patriotic duty as subjects, paying the tax man our pound of flesh every year, all the while trying to eek-out our meager serfdom existence.  This year, however our King, George W. Bush, in his most beneficient love for us, has decidered(sic) to bequeath back to us a remnant of all of the money he squandered from us in the form of a tax rebate, under The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008.

Mister Bush hopes that we will spend this money in the shopping malls to "stimulate" our economy. The bad news is very few things carry the label "Made in the USA" anymore, and the lion's share of that money is destined to go directly overseas and into China's banks, instead of US coffers.

I'll probably be spending mine on higher gas prices. But I appreciate the thought, anyway, seeing how Bush's war of aggression and occupation of Iraq is the major cause of a barrel of oil skyrocketing in price from a 2003 pre-invasion "low" of $30 a barrel to over $100 a barrel in this the 8th year of his majesty King GeorgeII's reign.
If you'd like to tell us, I'm a curious sort of fellow, and I'd like to know what everyone else is planning to do with their rebate checks.
